Frequently Asked Questions
How can counselling help?
Counselling can help and support you in making changes, in understanding yourself and your situation more deeply. I am proud to offer you a confidential, empathetic and truly accepting safe space to talk about things that are troubling you, without worry of being judged.
Together, we will begin to find a way forward , at your pace, and develop the right solutions for you. Feeling truly heard and understood by another, can validate your emotions and experiences: I listen in a way to understand how life is for you.
Counselling is for everyone and can be literally life changing.
Are you a member of a professional body?
I am an accredited counsellor with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I work within their Ethical Framework.
How will we meet?
I carry out all therapy sessions online over Google Meet. This is free to use and secure i.e. no one can listen in to our session. When you book a session with me, I will send you a calendar invite containing the link for us to meet. I am happy to meet through these other mediums too: WhatsApp video and Zoom
You may also choose to have a telephone conversation session with me
How long will I need counselling for?
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long. You would always be in control of how many sessions you choose to have, so if you have a session limit in mind for therapy you can just say, and I will tailor any plans to your budget.
Some people only attend for a short time 6-8 sessions, whilst others may prefer to work together for longer. Some people choose to have weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions.
How much will it cost?
£50 for 50 minutes of counselling.
£40 for trainee counsellors
Fees need to be paid in advance before the session takes place. I accept payment via bank transfer.
What days and times are you available?
I currently work Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Sundays midday to 5pm.
I do work some evenings. Hopefully, we can find a time that works for you.

“I was very nervous starting therapy; Dawn was incredibly attentive and is a highly skilled professional. I have accomplished more than I believed possible, she has helped me see things from my past that I’ve overlooked that have been causing issues in my day-to-day life, which have helped me understand myself and my core beliefs.”
